Paul Bunyan Days Beef, Lamb and Pork BBQ in Fort Bragg. To be held at the field next to College of the Redwoods, Noon-5pm. Ticket donation $15 for adults, $12 for 62+seniors, and $8 for kids 10 and under. For more information call 964-1228. This event is a fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mendocino County.

September 9

Inland Water & Power Commission (IWPC) will meet at the Ukiah Valley Conference Center in the Chenin Blanc Room at 6pm to meet with the Corps of Engineers to dicuss the Coyote Dam Feasibilty Study. Meeting is open to the public.

September 10

12th Annual Granite Construction Company Chilli Cook-Off at the Alex Thomas Jr. Plaza in Ukiah. Proceeds will benefit the Youth Development Program at the Boys & Girls Club of Ukiah. 6-10 pm. You will have the opportunity to purchase a ticket for tasting and be able to vote for the best chilli, the hottest, etc.

November 15-16

6th Annual Sustainable Ag Expo will be held in Monterey at the Embassy Suites. Seminars include dynamic speakers on crop-specific and general topics facing vineyards and row-crops. Discussion of real time-issues pertaining to the agricultural community will give attendees relevant and applicable information. The expo will also feature a trade show representing companies whose services support the three E's of Sustainability. There is a early-bird discount for attendee registration until October 15th.
