December 1, 9, and 14

Mendocino County Dept. of Agriculture will be holding their annual grower classes at their offices conference room. Dec. 1 is 10am-noon, Dec. 9 is 2-4pm and Dec. 14 is 6-8pm. Part of these classes will be learning the new CalAg Permits reporting system. This is the new state-wide pesticide permitting and use report system that will allow growers to file easily.

December 3-7

CFBF 93rd Annual Meeting of members "Celebrating the Hands That Feed Us"will be held at John Ascuaga's Nugget in Sparks, Nevada. Additional information on registration and lodging can be found at: cfbf.com/am2011 starting in September.

January 27

2nd Annual California Ag Summit will be held at UC Davis. Join the food and ag industry's brightest thinkers for a day-long event of high-concept and down-to-earth presentations on the new realities faced by producers and consumers. Keynot speaker is John Hofmeister, former president of Shell Oil Company and there will be three powerful sessions: Global Food Trends: Production to Consumption, Energy in Agriculture: Positioning Agriculture for the Future, Social Media: Its Growing Role in Agriculture. February 4

4H and FFA will be holding their second Hands On Junior Livestock Expo at the Ukiah Fairgrounds. This event's main purpose is to educate and certify youth animal exhibitors in Ethics and Quality Assurance. If you would like to participate there are many ways that you can, i.e. being a sponsor, represent your brand in a retail or informational booth, donate a door prize, etc, you can contact Sheryn Hildebrand at 707-489-5346 or shildebrand@mendocinocasa.org. They are going to publish a Producers & Supporters program for the participants, which is reference tool for the junior exhibitors of 4H and FFA. They are looking for advertisers.
